Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. Coleman graduated from Arnold School Blackpool, where she achieved straight As for A-levels. When Coleman was asked about her Emmerdale character, she said that it is regrettable having not had the typical university experience. Coleman, while still in High School, was a member of the theatre company In Yer Space. They staged the play Crystal Clear for the Edinburgh Festival. The performance received praise by the audience, and the show was praised by the critics. Coleman was chosen for the Emmerdale role Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with the drama school. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two prizes. At the British Soap Awards she was named Best Newcomer, and at the National Television Awards she was named the Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, she received nominations for two categories: Best Actress-Sexiest Female and Best Performance Dramatic. Coleman received a TV Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman has replaced Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series she would play the role with Matt Smith. Moffat chose her due to her ability to work alongside Smith, and that she was faster at speaking than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model.
